THREE THINGS TO AVOID DURING EXAMINATION

It is no longer news that the third term academic session for 2016/2017 is fast coming to an end. While some schools are through with their examinations, some other schools are just about starting theirs, and some are even in the middle of the examinations.

The following tips will help you to prepare better for any examination be it now or in the nearest future.
For students who are just about starting their examinations, here are few tips that may help you this examination period:
1. AVOID PROCESSING FEAR IN YOUR MIND.

One of the causes of failure before examination is FEAR. Most students are just too scared that they begin to process fear in their sub-conscious mind. Most students begin to act, feel, think and behave like a failure even before the commencement of examination. For any student to succeed in any examination, such a student must dispel every notion of fear-real or imaginary.
Allowing fear to have a firm grip of you is an invitation to worry, and once you are worrisome your inner peace is troubled and your level of concentration on the task of writing the examination diminishes with time. Don't forget; as a man thinketh, so is he.

2. AVOID THE 'LA CRAM LA POUR' SYNDROME

The temptation to cram volumes of information within a short period of time must be avoided. Cramming isn't an option to go for when trying to sit for an exam. Instead of trying to cram, it is advisable that you read with maximum understanding and try to interpret what you have read in your own understanding. It is important that you don't attempt to impress your teacher by trying to use words and phrases you don't understand in order to avoid putting yourself in trouble. Reading and interpreting lines in your own understanding will save you lots of headaches and confusion.

3. DON'T OVERWORK YOUR BRAIN

Having a compulsory downtime or break is non-negotiable. As a matter of fact, the brain needs rest after a hectic exercise. Downtime replenishes the brain for attention and motivation. It encourages productivity and creativity, and is important to achieve highest levels of performance. Downtime helps the brain to relax and reflect on the mass volume of data stored up in the brain box. After reading to your satisfaction, always take time to sleep and freshen up.
